TLN are continuing to link together schools and youth groups with their local care home across Bradford as part of the Care Home FaNs: Intergenerational Linking project.
During the winter months, staff at Formations Care Home in Shipley asked their residents about their favourite childhood memory of winter. They shared the memories with children in the local Rainbow group at St Paul’s Church Shipley. The Rainbow group met online once a week and discussed these memories, exploring the similarities and differences of their own experiences of winter. They then recreated the memories in artwork (and even in real life when it snowed!) and TLN helped to turn these pieces of artwork into a beautiful video to be shared with children, residents of the care home and families.
The possibilities for Intergenerational Linking are endless and this is one fantastic example of how young and older people can connect remotely. We are so excited be supporting schools, youth groups and care homes in this project and are always looking for others to be part too.
