Welcome to our Summer Newsletter!
We wanted to share with you a little of what we’ve been up to recently here at The Linking Network. Our Schools Linking work is thriving. The entire team of facilitators and teachers across the country have worked so hard to bring the new virtual Schools Linking programme to life to ensure that schools and children have been able to continue to link and connect despite the restrictions the pandemic has placed upon us all. It’s been great to see how our new materials have been received and used by staff and pupils.
Our main image (above) and the one to the left are from our Intergenerational Linking Tree of Togetherness project between the children of Beckfoot Allerton Primary School and Willowbank Care Home in Bradford, it is great to see the trees up on display; one tree has been placed on the ground floor & one on the upper floor of the care home, and already the residents love stopping by to read their messages on the birds & leaves. In school, the Year 5 children have made a display of the photos and messages they have received.
We’re delighted to share with you some of the other strands of activity we’re involved in including more on Intergenerational Linking and Social Action in Linking. You can read our newsletter here
All 29 areas across the country are recruiting schools for linking in 2021-2022; interested schools can find contact details here for local programmes, and check if there is a linking programme near to them.
