Thank You Day is this Sunday – July 4th 2021

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in Schools Linking this year. It has been a tough year and Thank You Day, led by the Together coalition, offers a welcome opportunity to pause and reflect on how we connect with each other – and appreciate how gratitude helps us move forward. There are so many ways of saying thank you – and we all have someone or something  to be grateful for!  Giving thanks helps us to feel more positive emotions, build relationships and generally improve our health. We hope that everyone will find a way to come together with those around them on Sunday, to say thank you.

You could hold a barbe-thankQ …or a Big Lunch..  there so many ways of creating your own special day.

Each class in every school across the UK has been invited to create a piece of a giant national thank you card   alongside artist Charlie Mackesy, which will be presented at Wimbledon and will then be on display at the People’s History Museum in Manchester. Schools who have missed this can also join in on the Friday before Thank You Day (2nd July), to celebrate their communities with an outdoor Thank You Party and make thank you games and posters,  encouraging everyone to think about who they are thankful for.  Celebrations will continue on Monday 5th July,  which is the NHS’s 73rd birthday.  We have created a PowerPoint for teachers to use, to lead discussion and activities around saying Thank You.

Take a look at #ThankYouDay on social media and on the Thank You Day website to get in the mood.
