We are very excited to be working with the Peterborough Linking Programme, who launched their linking partnership with TLN last year. The Peterborough Linking Programme is led by City Culture Peterborough.
The 2020 linking year was off to a great start last year; the teachers at our February CPD1 were all incredibly enthusiastic. It was such a let down to have to pause everything so early on, due to Covid19. We had 8 classes signed up, with possibly two more to link. Each linking pair had a name of an important figure in Peterborough’s past. This provided the children with something they could learn about together, as well as increasing their pride in the city’s past, -plus it provided a useful name for the venues and coach company so they knew they had the correct linked pair! We are fortunate enough to have a digital timeline of the city where the children can read about the figures, which is a great resource to share with the classes and we are looking forward to picking up where we left off.
Although we have had to pause during the pandemic, we are excited to be re-launching our virtual linking programme in September 2021, ready for linking in the 2021/22 academic year. We are really looking forward to welcoming teachers back, and meeting new linking teachers at our CPD early in 2021-22, our CPD will be online and we will also be linking virtually; building a sense of togetherness with other children and creating shared learning adventures from within the classroom. If you would like your school to be involved, please get in touch with us!
