We believe that engaging families in their child’s experience of the Schools Linking journey is very valuable, as it can make a big difference to the impact of the programme on children (News item on family engagement).
Engaging families could be as simple as sending letters and activities home, inviting families to share a recipe, a game, a story from their family history, learn some sign language with their child, enjoy watching the online theatre play or a poem or book used by their children in the programme. Schools will have many other creative ideas to engage their families. Local schools linking programmes find ways to connect schools and communities together sharing ideas about identity, diversity, community and equality.
We’ve got lots of resources on this page you can download and use, and also on the new home learning resources page.
