Schools Linking aims to build connections across difference in its widest sense.  In Calderdale, having identified aims and benefits for both sets of pupils through linking, the Headteachers from Highbury Special School and The Greetland Academy, were keen to provide their children with this safe, fun and meaningful opportunity to connect.

We are also delighted to see Special School-Mainstream Schools Linking partnerships taking place across the country for example in Newcastle, Tower Hamlets and Manchester. It provides a powerful opportunity for the children involved to overcome any fears they might have of meeting new people and to build connections with others in a fun, collaborative and safe way.
