Windrush 75: We are helping schools to celebrate an important milestone in British History

The 75th Anniversary of Windrush is on 22nd June 2023 and to help schools to reflect with their pupils on how migration has shaped Britain, we have written new resources to help all schools to mark this important milestone over the summer term.
These resources were created with the support of the Windrush Generations Bradford and in partnership with the Windrush 75 Network, who are calling for a national celebration this year.
The resources and lesson activity handouts are available here (No password is needed). We have carefully planned:
– Adaptable Windrush 75 Assembly for Primary and Secondary Schools
– Adaptable Lesson/ Tutorial session for Primary and Secondary Schools
If schools are able to arrange an interview with someone from their community who is a Windrush elder or descendant, we have also written a Windrush 75 Toolkit with guidance based on our experience. The Primary Windrush lesson or Secondary Windrush lesson are will familiarise pupils with the Windrush story and give them time to plan questions in advance of a speakers visit.
