Making connections and sharing outstanding practice: our SMSC Network
08 October, 2024
Last month our Secondary SMSC Network met for their first meeting of the academic year.

Our online meetings, which gathers SMSC leaders in secondary schools, allow us to have open discussions about good practice, challenges and anything else that teachers would like to share.
This time discussions centred around the disturbances of the summer and how we can best support students in schools using trauma-informed responses. We shared useful resources, Ofsted updates as well as hearing from our Leicester local facilitator about Leicester as the UK’s first ‘super-diverse city’.

The Linking Network and its team of experienced advisory teachers have been successfully supporting schools on ways to promote and enhance SMSC provision for two decades. Our FREE network helps you to:
- Engage in dialogue about issues that really matter to students
- Keep up to date with the latest developments
- Develop confidence in your leadership area
- Have access to free resources and advice
“Thank you for the session and resources, it was really enlightening”. Assistant Principal i/c of Personal Development, Secondary School, Bradford
“Really useful session as always, especially the feedback from Ofsted reports”, Teacher in charge of SMSC and PSHE, Secondary School, Bradford
If you lead SMSC/ Personal Development or have a special interest in these areas, then we would like to invite you to join our SMSC Network. Our next meetings will be offered on two dates in January. You will be given a choice to attend one of these dates:
Thursday 23rd January 3–4pm
or
Tuesday 28th January 4-5pm
If you would like to receive an invite and become part of our network, or just require further information, please email: azam.ali@thelinkingnetwork.org.uk
