The importance of respect and tolerance from different faith and non faith perspectives

We have created an assembly on the importance of respect and tolerance from different faith and non faith perspectives. Furthermore, this resource will allow pupils to understand and reflect on how three different world faiths promote the importance of understanding, cooperation and unity.
Hopefully, it will also remind pupils that some people may use ‘difference’ in religious beliefs to sow seeds of division, but this behaviour is often not condoned by the faith groups they claim to belong to.
It should also allow pupils to reflect on some of the many positive examples of interfaith cooperation.
The assembly also refers to Article 9 of the Human Rights Act and the British value of mutual respect, tolerance and understanding.
