It starts with community! Successful National Lottery Funding!

05 April, 2024

Here at The Linking Network we are so excited to share some wonderful news!

We have been successful in our application for funding from The National Lottery UK Fund. A huge thank you from us to all the National Lottery players for making this possible. Read the press release here.

The funding will enable us to support and develop our Schools Linking programmes in 25 local authority areas in England as well as expanding to other locations. Our vibrant network of 25 local facilitators and over 850 teachers in schools across the country invest their time and energy to provide children and young people with meaningful opportunities to meet to explore the concepts of identity, diversity, community and justice using our key questions;

Who am I? Who are we? Where do we live? How do we all live well together?

Primary and Secondary Schools, both Mainstream and Special Schools, across all demographics are involved in this programme which builds belonging and creates connections across perceived differences within local communities.

With this funding, we will be able to strengthen and innovate the impact that Schools Linking has on families and wider communities, in line with the National Lottery Community Fund’s new strategy, ‘It starts with community.’

Our work wouldn’t be possible without the long-standing support from Pears Foundation, Dulverton Trust, Alan & Babette Sainsbury Charitable Fund, the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Department of Education and Bradford Council as well as new funding from Garfield Weston Foundation. Thank you!
