Recruitment for 2023-24 is underway across the country
22 May, 2023
Schools Linking supports children and young people to explore identity, be comfortable with difference and build connections in their local area. There are local Schools Linking programmes in 27 regions across England from Bradford to Bristol, Leeds to London and Newcastle to Nottingham.
We welcome all Primary, Secondary and Special schools to join us and support their pupils and students to explore identity in creative, active and participatory ways through linking with people who are in some way different to them.
Our free and fully resourced programme links classes from different schools within the same local area, for a yearlong project which focuses on 4 key questions:
Who am I? Who are we? Where do we live? How do we all live well together?
Time and time again teachers tell us that Schools Linking brings so much joy to all those involved and through the simple act of making friends supports schools to build connections across their community and ensure an expectation of belonging for all.
In each local area, a local facilitator is currently busy recruiting schools for their Schools Linking programme for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Local areas are each unique and although they all deliver our programme of lessons and activities, each offers a bespoke programme to suit their own particular circumstances and collaborate with others in their community from art galleries and museums to football stadiums and sports centres. Each local area incorporates aspects of specific relevance to the community in which they operate and seeks to build a sense of a shared local identity amongst all the young people they engage.
Whether your school has taken part for many years, taken a break recently or are a brand new sign up, we would love to have you join us in or 2023-24 programme.
You can check out here whether your local area has a programme and if there isn’t, and you and another school in your area would like to link, please get in touch with TLN here.
